Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Union Area crushes Laurel
January 18, 2025: New Castle, PA 16101 The Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA) basketball crushed the host Laurel Spartans (New Castle, PA), 54-27 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Scotties now possess a 15-0 record. They play next when they host Western Beaver for a WPIAL 1A 1 bout on Tuesday, January 21. Union Area will play a Golden Beavers team coming off a 63-24 league loss to Aquinas Academy (Gibsonia, PA). The Golden Beavers record now stands at 3-9.
With the loss, Laurel falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Greenville (Greenville, PA) to play the Trojans in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 21. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 7-4. Greenville lost 41-27 in their recent non-league bout against Franklin (Franklin, PA)
