Louisiana High School Soccer - Westgate knocks off Washington-Marion
January 18, 2025: New Iberia, LA 70560 The Westgate Tigers soccer squad scored 8 points and held the visiting Washington-Marion Charging Indians to 0 in the Tigers non-league victory on Saturday.
The Tigers now possess a 4-14 record. They play next when they host Comeaux for a bout on Tuesday, January 21. Westgate will play a Spartans squad coming off a 5-0 league loss to North Vermilion (Maurice, LA). The Spartans record now stands at 6-6.
With the loss, Washington-Marion moves to 2-14 on the year. The Charging indians host St. Louis Catholic (Lake Charles, LA) to play the Saints in a Division III District 3 bout on Tuesday, January 21. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 6-7. St. Louis Catholic won 4-2 in their recent league bout against DeRidder (DeRidder, LA)
