January 19, 2023: Shady Spring, WV 25918 The Independence Patriots basketball team (Coal City, WV), was overwhelmed 88-25 in Thursday's league battle with the host Shady Spring Tigers (Shady Spring, WV)
The Tigers now possess a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Logan for a non-league battle on Saturday, January 21. Shady Spring will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 68-59 league loss to Scott (Madison, WV). The Wildcats record now stands at 7-7.
The Patriots (3-7) will now prepare for their battle against Nicholas County (Summersville, WV). The Grizzlies come into the Coalfield AA battle with a 5-5 record. In their last battle, Nicholas County was overwhelmed by Lewis County (Weston, WV), 60-56, in a non-league battle.
