The La Joya Community Fighting Lobos basketball team (Avondale, AZ), was overwhelmed 54-15 in Thursday's league battle with the host Desert Edge Scorpions (Goodyear, AZ)

The Scorpions now possess a 10-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lake Havasu for a 5A Desert West battle on Friday, January 20. Desert Edge will confront a Knights team coming off a 72-4 league loss to Canyon View (Waddell, AZ). The Knights record now stands at 0-13.

The Fighting Lobos (1-11) will now prepare for their battle against Casteel (Queen Creek, AZ). The Colts come into the non-league battle with a 11-7 record. In their last battle, Casteel trounced Higley (Gilbert, AZ), 39-33, in a league battle.
