Georgia High School Basketball - Monroe tops Carver

January 19, 2024: Columbus, GA 31906

Monroe Golden Tornadoes (Albany, GA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Carver Tigers (Columbus, GA), 90-71 in a league bout.

With the victory, Monroe upgrades its record to 15-3 on the campaign. The Golden Tornadoes host Columbus (Columbus, GA) to play the Blue Devils in a AAA Region 1 bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Blue Devils come into the bout with a record of 13-6. Columbus won 66-51 in their recent league bout against Crisp County (Cordele, GA)

Next up, the Tigers play the Dougherty Trojans (Albany, GA) in a AAA Region 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Carver will attempt to upgrade on its 16-1 season record. The Trojans come into the bout with a 13-6 record after their 74-51 league win over Thomasville (Thomasville, GA).
