The Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos basketball team scored 52 points and held the visiting Cumberland Pirates to 50 in the Broncos non-league triumph on Friday.

The Broncos now sport a 7-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Arcola for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 20. Cerro Gordo/Bement will battle a Purple Riders team coming off a 63-53 league win over Sullivan (Sullivan, IL). The Purple Riders record now stands at 15-5.

The Pirates (7-15) will now prepare for their contest against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond (Arthur, IL). The Knights enter the Lincoln Prairie contest with a 4-14 record. In their last contest, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond was nudged by Arcola (Arcola, IL), 64-45, in a league contest.
