The DeKalb Barbs basketball team scored 39 points and restricted the visiting Metea Valley Mustangs to 14 in the Barbs league victory on Friday.

The Barbs now sport a 13-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Maine East for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 20. DeKalb will battle a Blue Demons team coming off a 42-37 league loss to Maine West (Des Plaines, IL). The Blue Demons record now stands at 11-11.

The Mustangs (2-13) will now prepare for their contest against Kaneland (Maple Park, IL). The Knights come into the non-league contest with a 15-8 record. In their last contest, Kaneland triumphed over LaSalle-Peru (LaSalle, IL), 49-38, in a league contest.
