Maine High School Basketball - Sumner holds off Searsport
January 19, 2024: East Sullivan, ME 04664 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Sumner Tigers (East Sullivan, ME) and the visiting Searsport Vikings (Searsport, ME), saw Sumner's basketball squad hold off Searsport by a tally of 37-32.
With the victory, Sumner improves its record to 5-8 on the campaign. The Tigers host Machias (Machias, ME) to confront the Bulldogs in a C North challenge on Saturday, January 20. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 9-1. Machias won 48-29 in their recent league challenge against Calais (Calais, ME)
Next up, the Vikings confront the Bangor Christian Patriots (Bangor, ME) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Searsport will attempt to improve on its 4-7 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 7-6 record after their 46-34 league win over Lee Academy (Lee, ME).
