Georgia High School Basketball - Southland Academy overwhelms Valwood
January 19, 2024: Valdosta, GA 31632 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Southland Academy Raiders (Americus, GA) and the host Valwood Valiants (Valdosta, GA), saw Southland Academy's basketball squad wallop Valwood by a tally of 58-21.
With the victory, Southland Academy improves its record to 6-8 on the campaign. The Raiders host Calvary Christian (Columbus, GA) to play the Knights in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 20. The Knights come into the challenge with a record of 7-8. Calvary Christian lost 75-53 in their recent league challenge against Creekside Christian Academy (McDonough, GA)
Next up, the Valiants play the Terrell Academy Eagles (Dawson, GA) in a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 3 challenge, on Monday, January 22. Valwood will attempt to improve on its 4-7 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 10-4 record after their 49-42 league loss to Deerfield-Windsor (Albany, GA).
