In Monday's non-league match, the visiting Laurel Golden Tornadoes basketball team scored a good 38-26 triumph over the Newton Tigers.

In their next game, the Golden Tornadoes meet the Wayne County War Eagles (Waynesboro, MS) in a 5A Region 6 match, on Friday, January 6. Laurel will attempt to better on its 10-3 season record.
