The Quitman Panthers basketball team scored 45 points and held the host Newton Tigers to 39 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Panthers now sport a 11-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Richland for a 4A Region 5 contest on Tuesday, January 10.
