In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) basketball squad nipped the visiting Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA), by a margin of 49-45.

The Trojans (4-8) will now prepare for their outing against North Stokes (Danbury, NC). The Vikings go into the 1A Northwest outing with a 8-5 record.

The Blue Devils now own a 3-8 record. They play next when they host Auburn for a Mountain Empire outing on Wednesday, January 3. Grayson County will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 67-56 non-league loss to Alleghany (Covington, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 4-5.
