McCool Junction Mustangs (McCool Junction, NE) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lawrence-Nelson Raiders (Nelson, NE), 58-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, McCool Junction upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Mustangs host Meridian (Daykin, NE) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 4. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 4-6. Meridian won 53-35 in their recent non-league bout against Lewiston (Lewiston, NE)

Next up, the Raiders play the Giltner Hornets (Giltner, NE) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 4. Lawrence-Nelson will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 5-3 record after their 49-21 non-league win over Franklin (Franklin, NE).
