West Virginia High School Basketball - George Washington overwhelms South Charleston
January 2, 2024: Charleston, WV 25314 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the George Washington Patriots (Charleston, WV) and the visiting South Charleston Black Eagles (South Charleston, WV), saw George Washington's basketball squad wallop South Charleston by a tally of 71-20.
With the victory, George Washington improves its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Johnson Central (Paintsville, KY) to play the Golden Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 6. The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 11-0.
Next up, the Black Eagles play the Capital Cougars (Charleston, WV) in a Mountain State challenge, on Thursday, January 4. South Charleston will attempt to improve on its 0-8 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 0-4 record after their 89-30 league loss to St. Albans (St. Albans, WV).
