Illinois High School Basketball - Lockport holds off Providence Catholic
January 2, 2024: Lockport, IL 60441 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Lockport Porters (Lockport, IL) and the visiting Providence Catholic Celtics (New Lenox, IL), saw Lockport's basketball squad hold off Providence Catholic by a tally of 41-38.
With the victory, Lockport improves its record to 9-10 on the campaign. The Porters host Homewood-Flossmoor (Flossmoor, IL) to confront the Vikings in a SouthWest Suburban - Blue challenge on Thursday, January 4. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 9-6. Homewood-Flossmoor lost 52-49 in their recent non-league challenge against Pallotti (Laurel, MD)
Next up, the Celtics confront the Glenbard East Rams (Lombard, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 5. Providence Catholic will attempt to improve on its 10-9 season record. The Rams come into the challenge with a 13-5 record after their 54-36 league win over Elgin (Elgin, IL).
