North Carolina High School Basketball - Starmount over Ashe County

January 2, 2024: Boonville, NC 27011

Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC) and the visiting Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), saw Starmount's basketball squad overcome Ashe County by a tally of 45-35.

With the victory, Starmount improves its record to 3-3 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Surry Central (Dobson, NC) to play the Golden Eagles in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 3. The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 3-5. Surry Central won 56-40 in their recent non-league challenge against West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC)

Next up, the Huskies play the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) in a challenge, on Friday, January 12. Ashe County will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 5-6 record after their 46-44 non-league win over Davie (Mocksville, NC).
