January 2, 2025: Saluda, VA 23149 The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Middlesex Chargers (Saluda, VA) and the visiting Mathews Blue Devils (Mathews, VA), observed Middlesex's basketball team knock off Mathews by a score of 29-14.
The Chargers (5-0) will now prepare for their challenge against King William (King William, VA). The Cavaliers come into the non-league challenge with a 4-1 record. In their last challenge, King William prevailed over Mechanicsville (Mechanicsville, VA), 28-21, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Blue Devils encounter the Northumberland Indians (Heathsville, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 6. Mathews will attempt to improve on its 1-3 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 38-4 non-league loss to Middlesex (Saluda, VA).
