Irene/Wakonda Eagles (Irene, SD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Alcester-Hudson Cubs (Alcester, SD), 45-39 in a league bout.

With the win, Irene/Wakonda upgrades its record to 6-5 on the season. The Eagles travel to Beresford (Beresford, SD) to play the Watchdogs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Watchdogs go into the bout with a record of 8-3. Beresford won 57-42 in their recent non-league bout against Chester (Chester, SD)
