Hopewell Valley Central Bulldogs (Pennington, NJ) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Allentown Redbirds (Allentown, NJ), 53-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hopewell Valley Central upgrades its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host North Hunterdon (Annandale, NJ) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 21. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 4-9. North Hunterdon lost 72-62 in their recent non-league bout against Bound Brook (Bound Brook, NJ)

Next up, the Redbirds play the West Windsor-Plainsboro South Pirates (Princeton Junction, NJ) in a Colonial Valley bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Allentown will attempt to upgrade on its 6-10 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 9-6 record after their 77-52 league loss to Trenton Central (Trenton, NJ).
