The Sweetwater Mustangs basketball team (Sweetwater, TX), was nudged 49-44 in Friday's league battle with the host Big Spring Steers (Big Spring, TX)

The Steers now possess a 6-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Levelland for a 4A Region I District 5 battle on Tuesday, January 24. Big Spring will battle a Lobos team coming off a 62-27 league win over Lake View (San Angelo, TX). The Lobos record now stands at 12-12.

The Mustangs (17-9) will now prepare for their battle against Estacado (Lubbock, TX). The Matadors come into the 4A Region I District 5 battle with a 15-15 record. In their last battle, Estacado edged Snyder (Snyder, TX), 51-39, in a league battle.
