Brown County Hornets (Mt. Sterling, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host North Greene Spartans (White Hall, IL), 62-34 in a league bout.

With the victory, Brown County upgrades its record to 15-6 on the campaign. The Hornets host Carrollton (Carrollton, IL) to play the Hawks in a Western Illinois Valley bout on Saturday, January 21. The Hawks come into the bout with a record of 7-9. Carrollton won 58-50 in their recent league bout against Pleasant Hill (Pleasant Hill, IL)

Next up, the Spartans play the Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 25. North Greene will attempt to upgrade on its 5-14 season record. The Piasa Birds come into the bout with a 11-10 record after their 38-36 non-league win over North Mac (Virden, IL).
