Routt Catholic Rockets (Jacksonville, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Brown County Hornets (Mt. Sterling, IL), 53-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, Routt Catholic upgrades its record to 24-2 on the campaign. The Rockets travel to Eureka (Eureka, IL) to play the Hornets in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 11. The Hornets come into the bout with a record of 21-5. Eureka won 46-36 in their recent league bout against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (Gibson City, IL)

Next up, the Hornets play the Pleasant Hill Wolves (Pleasant Hill, IL) in a Western Illinois Valley bout, on Tuesday, February 14. Brown County will attempt to upgrade on its 19-10 season record. The Wolves come into the bout with a 4-18 record after their 56-33 non-league win over Greenview (Greenview, IL).
