Texas High School Basketball - Leakey overwhelms Nueces Canyon
January 20, 2023: Barksdale, TX 78828 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Leakey Eagles (Leakey, TX) and the host Nueces Canyon Panthers (Barksdale, TX), saw Leakey's basketball squad wallop Nueces Canyon by a tally of 65-41.
With the victory, Leakey improves its record to 7-12 on the campaign. The Eagles host Knippa (Knippa, TX) to play the Crushers in a 1A Region IV District 31 challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Crushers come into the challenge with a record of 9-14. Knippa won 43-26 in their recent league challenge against Nueces Canyon (Barksdale, TX)
Next up, the Panthers play the Medina Bobcats (Medina, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 31 challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Nueces Canyon will attempt to improve on its 3-12 season record. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a 4-13 record after their 76-47 league loss to Utopia (Utopia, TX).
