Hammond Skyhawks (Columbia, SC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Augusta Christian Lions (Martinez, GA), 51-39 in a league bout.

With the win, Hammond upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Skyhawks travel to Ben Lippen (Columbia, SC) to clash with the Falcons in a SCISA AAAA Region I bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 9-7. Ben Lippen lost 61-33 in their recent league bout against Hammond (Columbia, SC)

Next up, the Lions clash with the Cardinal Newman Cardinals (Columbia, SC) in a SCISA AAAA Region I bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Augusta Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 6-12 season record.
