Mercedes Tigers (Mercedes, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Lopez Lobos (Brownsville, TX), 42-35 in a league bout.

With the win, Mercedes upgrades its record to 14-11 on the season. The Tigers host Donna (Donna, TX) to clash with the Redskins in a 5A Region IV District 32 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Redskins go into the bout with a record of 5-17. Donna lost 70-19 in their recent league bout against Veterans Memorial (Brownsville, TX)

Next up, the Lobos clash with the Pace Vikings (Brownsville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Lopez will attempt to upgrade on its 15-14 season record.
