Medina Bobcats (Medina, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Utopia Buffaloes (Utopia, TX), 44-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Medina upgrades its record to 6-13 on the season. The Bobcats host Nueces Canyon (Barksdale, TX) to play the Panthers in a 1A Region IV District 31 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 15-12. Nueces Canyon won 44-34 in their recent league bout against Leakey (Leakey, TX)

Next up, the Buffaloes play the Rocksprings Angoras (Rocksprings, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 31 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Utopia will attempt to upgrade on its 0-11 season record. The Angoras go into the bout with a 20-9 record after their 60-35 league win over D'Hanis (D'Hanis, TX).
