Franklin County Eagles (Rocky Mount, VA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Magna Vista Warriors (Ridgeway, VA), 58-56 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Franklin County upgrades its record to 5-9 on the season. The Eagles host William Byrd (Vinton, VA) to play the Terriers in a Blue Ridge bout on Monday, January 22. The Terriers go into the bout with a record of 9-6. William Byrd lost 81-65 in their recent league bout against Fleming (Roanoke, VA)

Next up, the Warriors play the Bassett Bengals (Bassett, VA) in a Piedmont bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Magna Vista will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record. The Bengals go into the bout with a 3-12 record after their 77-67 league loss to George Washington (Danville, VA).
