The Sleepy Eye Indians basketball team scored 69 points and held the host Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers to 56 in the Indians non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Indians now sport a 12-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop for a A Section 2 contest on Monday, January 22. Sleepy Eye will battle a Thunderbirds team coming off a 80-65 league win over Martin County West (Sherburn, MN). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 7-7.
The Chargers (1-15) will now prepare for their contest against Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda (Okabena, MN). The Coyotes enter the A Section 3 contest with a 1-13 record. In their last contest, Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda was defeated by Russell-Tyler-Ruthton (Tyler, MN), 72-46, in a league contest.
