Minnesota High School Basketball - Sleepy Eye overwhelmed by Springfield
January 18, 2024: Springfield, MN 56087 The Springfield Tigers basketball team scored 68 points and restricted the visiting Sleepy Eye Indians to 45 in the Tigers league victory on Thursday.
The Tigers now sport a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cedar Mountain for a A Section 2 contest on Tuesday, January 23. Springfield will battle a Cougars team coming off a 83-57 league win over Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart (Hector, MN). The Cougars record now stands at 8-6.
The Indians (11-2) will now prepare for their contest against Westbrook-Walnut Grove (Westbrook, MN). The Chargers come into the non-league contest with a 1-14 record. In their last contest, Westbrook-Walnut Grove was routed by Southwest Minnesota Christian (Edgerton, MN), 54-39, in a league contest.
