Iowa High School Basketball - Winterset can't hold off Van Meter
January 20, 2025: Van Meter, IA 50261 Van Meter Bulldogs (Van Meter, IA) boosters left the game satisfied Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Winterset Huskies (Winterset, IA), 61-54 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Van Meter upgrades its record to 8-4 on the year. The Bulldogs host Pleasantville (Pleasantville, IA) to face the Trojans in a West Central match on Tuesday, January 21. The Trojans enter the match with a record of 6-5. Pleasantville won 50-42 in their recent league match against West Central Valley (Stuart, IA)
The Huskies now sport a 2-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bondurant-Farrar for a Raccoon River match on Tuesday, January 21. Winterset will face a Bluejays squad coming off a 68-51 league loss to Ballard (Huxley, IA). The Bluejays record now stands at 5-6.
