North Carolina High School Basketball - South Johnston succumbs to West Johnston

January 20, 2026: Four Oaks, NC 27524

In Tuesday's league test, the West Johnston Wildcats (Benson, NC) basketball squad defeated the host South Johnston Trojans (Four Oaks, NC), by a score of 55-43.

Next, the Wildcats clash with the Southern Nash Firebirds (Bailey, NC) in a non-league test, on Wednesday, January 21. West Johnston will attempt to improve on its 12-4 season record. The Firebirds come into the test with a 2-15 record after their 74-28 league loss to Northern Nash (Rocky Mount, NC).

With the loss, South Johnston falls to 3-11 on the campaign. The Trojans host Harnett Central (Angier, NC) to play the Trojans in a Carolina Pines 6A bout on Thursday, January 22. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 9-5. Harnett Central won 81-49 in their recent league bout against Triton (Erwin, NC)
