In Saturday's non-league match, the host Moon Area Tigers basketball team scored a decisive 62-39 triumph over the Montour Spartans.

In their next game, the Tigers meet the South Fayette Lions (McDonald, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 4 match, on Thursday, January 26. Moon Area will attempt to better on its 8-6 season record.

With the defeat, Montour moves to 5-10 on the year. The Spartans travel to Mars (Mars, PA) to meet the Fightin' Planets in a non-league match on Tuesday, January 24.
