Virginia High School Basketball - Prince Edward County overwhelms Amelia County
January 21, 2025: Amelia Court House, VA 23002 The Prince Edward County Eagles basketball team scored 72 points and limited the host Amelia County Raiders to 46 in the Eagles league triumph on Tuesday.
The Eagles now have a 7-4 record. They play next when they host Randolph-Henry for a James River game on Friday, January 24. Prince Edward County will confront a Statesmen team coming off a 56-53 league loss to Lunenburg Central (Victoria, VA). The Statesmen record now stands at 3-10.
With the loss, Amelia County falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to Cumberland (Cumberland, VA) to confront the Dukes in a James River game on Friday, January 24. The Dukes go into the game with a record of 8-4. Cumberland lost 57-44 in their recent non-league game against Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA)
