South Dakota High School Basketball - Groton thwarts Northwestern Area
January 21, 2025: Groton, SD 57445 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Groton Tigers (Groton, SD) and the visiting Northwestern Area Wildcats (Mellette, SD), observed Groton's basketball team knock off Northwestern Area by a score of 42-30.
The Tigers (9-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Milbank (Milbank, SD). The Bulldogs come into the A Region 1 challenge with a 7-3 record. In their last challenge, Milbank prevailed over Waubay/Summit (Waubay, SD), 67-36, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Wildcats encounter the Leola/Frederick Titans (Leola, SD) in a B Region 1 challenge, on Thursday, January 23. Northwestern Area will attempt to improve on its 6-2 season record. The Titans come into the challenge with a 4-6 record after their 37-27 non-league win over Ellendale (Ellendale, ND).
