The Barnegat Bengals basketball team scored 49 points and restricted the host Ocean Township Spartans to 47 in the Bengals non-league victory on Monday.

The Bengals now sport a 8-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Toms River North for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 23. Barnegat will battle a Mariners team coming off a 63-55 league loss to Southern Regional (Manahawkin, NJ). The Mariners record now stands at 8-5.

The Spartans (6-9) will now prepare for their contest against Shore Regional (West Long Branch, NJ). The Blue Devils come into the Shore C contest with a 10-4 record. In their last contest, Shore Regional was nudged by Toms River South (Toms River, NJ), 67-63, in a non-league contest.
