Virginia High School Basketball - Staunton River holds off Liberty

In Wednesday's non-league contest, the host Staunton River Golden Eagles basketball team scored a close 42-38 triumph over the Liberty Minutemen.

The Golden Eagles (7-9) will now prepare for their contest against William Byrd (Vinton, VA). The Terriers go into the Blue Ridge contest with a 7-8 record. In their last contest, William Byrd was tipped by Northside (Roanoke, VA), 80-56, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Minutemen confront the Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) in a Seminole contest, on Friday, January 24. Liberty will attempt to better on its 3-9 season record. The Lancers go into the contest with a 0-13 record after their 62-57 non-league loss to Altavista (Altavista, VA).
