Virginia High School Basketball - Cumberland toppled by Appomattox County
January 22, 2025: Appomattox, VA 24522 Appomattox County Raiders (Appomattox, VA) boosters left the game satisfied Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA), 61-43 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Appomattox County upgrades its record to 7-7 on the year. The Raiders host Dan River (Ringgold, VA) to face the Wildcats in a Dogwood match on Friday, January 24. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 1-12. Dan River lost 52-37 in their recent non-league match against Bassett (Bassett, VA)
The Dukes now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Amelia County for a James River match on Friday, January 24. Cumberland will face a Raiders squad coming off a 60-40 league loss to Prince Edward County (Farmville, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 4-9.
