Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Monessen holds off Brownsville
January 23, 2023: Monessen, PA 15062 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Monessen Greyhounds (Monessen, PA) and the visiting Brownsville Falcons (Brownsville, PA), saw Monessen's basketball squad hold off Brownsville by a tally of 45-43.
With the victory, Monessen improves its record to 15-1 on the campaign. The Greyhounds travel to Geibel Catholic (Connellsville, PA) to confront the Gators in a WPIAL 1A 2 challenge on Friday, January 27. The Gators come into the challenge with a record of 9-6.
Next up, the Falcons confront the Waynesburg Central Raiders (Waynesburg, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 4 challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Brownsville will attempt to improve on its 8-6 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 2-13 record after their 68-40 league loss to Charleroi (Charleroi, PA).
