The Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) basketball knocked off the host Eastern Montgomery Mustangs (Elliston, VA), 59-41 in Monday's non-league test.

The Spartans (4-10) will now prepare for their test against Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA). The Pioneers go into the Mountain Empire test with a 5-11 record.

The Mustangs now own a 1-14 record. They play next when they travel to Highland for a Pioneer test on Tuesday, January 24. Eastern Montgomery will encounter a Rams squad coming off a 64-46 non-league win over Bethel (Hampton, VA). The Rams record now stands at 5-7.
