Mississippi High School Basketball - St. Joseph can't hold off McEvans
January 23, 2023: Shaw, MS 38773 The St. Joseph Fighting Irish basketball team (Greenville, MS), was nudged 58-54 in Monday's non-league battle with the host McEvans Warriors (Shaw, MS)
The Warriors now possess a 14-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host West Tallahatchie for a 1A Region 5 battle on Tuesday, January 24. McEvans will battle a Choctaws team coming off a 56-39 league win over South Delta (Rolling Fork, MS). The Choctaws record now stands at 6-7.
The Fighting Irish (11-3) will now prepare for their battle against Indianola Academy (Indianola, MS). The Colonels come into the MAIS 4A District 2 battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Indianola Academy was nudged by St. Joseph (Greenville, MS), 63-33, in a league battle.
