Ohio High School Basketball - Rock Hill can't hold off Portsmouth

The Trojans now sport a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Gallia Academy for a Ohio Valley battle on Friday, January 26. Portsmouth will battle a Blue Devils team coming off a 42-40 league loss to Rock Hill (Ironton, OH). The Blue Devils record now stands at 4-12.
The Redmen (4-11) will now prepare for their battle against Gallia Academy (Gallipolis, OH). The Blue Devils come into the Ohio Valley battle with a 4-11 record. In their last battle, Gallia Academy was nudged by Fairland (Proctorville, OH), 64-42, in a league battle.
First Quarter
Donnovan Breech's six points led the Portsmouth Trojans to a 13-7 lead after the first quarter.
Second Quarter
Rock Hill came storming back in the second quarter with outstanding shooting from Blake Porter and Rylan Barter as Portsmouth held on to a 30-26 halftime lead.
Third Quarter
Deandre Berry took control of the third quarter for Portsmouth scoring 11 of the Trojan's 14 points to hold on to a 44-41 lead going into the final stanza.
Fourth Quarter
Rock Hill behind Rylan Barter's (3) three-pointers, tied the game in regulation despite Deandre Berry's offensive prowess.
Overtime
Deandre Berry was too much in OT as he added nine more, scoring 40 points and grabbing 16 rebounds to lead the Trojans to victory 72-66
