Veterans Memorial Chargers (Brownsville, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Weslaco East Wildcats (Weslaco, TX), 47-18 in a league bout.

With the win, Veterans Memorial upgrades its record to 29-5 on the season. The Chargers travel to Donna North (Donna, TX) to clash with the Chiefs in a 5A Region IV District 32 bout on Friday, January 26. The Chiefs go into the bout with a record of 1-27. Donna North lost 70-8 in their recent league bout against Harlingen South (Harlingen, TX)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Pace Vikings (Brownsville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Weslaco East will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record.
