The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Maxwell Bears (Maxwell, NM) and the host New Mexico School for the Deaf Roadrunners (Santa Fe, NM), observed Maxwell's basketball team overwhelm New Mexico School for the Deaf by a score of 71-32.

The Bears (15-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Springer (Springer, NM). The Red Devils come into the A District 5 challenge with a 6-9 record. In their last challenge, Springer was routed by Cimarron (Cimarron, NM), 56-46, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Roadrunners encounter the Springer Red Devils (Springer, NM) in a A District 5 challenge, on Monday, January 27. New Mexico School for the Deaf will attempt to improve on its 6-7 season record. The Red Devils come into the challenge with a 6-10 record after their 71-68 league loss to Maxwell (Maxwell, NM).
