Iowa High School Basketball - Elk Point-Jefferson nips Akron-Westfield
January 23, 2025: Akron, IA 51001 In Thursday's non-league contest, the visiting Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies basketball team scored a close 36-29 triumph over the Akron-Westfield Westerners.
The Huskies (10-1) will now prepare for their contest against West Central (Hartford, SD). The Trojans go into the non-league contest with a 3-8 record. In their last contest, West Central was tipped by Lennox (Lennox, SD), 46-40, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Westerners battle the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Hawks (Hartley, IA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 24. Akron-Westfield will attempt to better on its 8-7 season record. The Hawks go into the contest with a 9-6 record after their 53-43 non-league win over South O'Brien (Paullina, IA).
