New York High School Basketball - Depew overwhelms Lackawanna
January 24, 2023: Depew, NY 14043 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Depew Wildcats (Depew, NY) and the visiting Lackawanna Steelers (Lackawanna, NY), saw Depew's basketball squad trounce Lackawanna by a score of 58-37.
The Wildcats (10-3) will now prepare for their test against North Tonawanda (North Tonawanda, NY). The Lumberjacks go into the non-league test with a 9-5 record. In their last test, North Tonawanda was trounced by Niagara Falls (Niagara Falls, NY), 51-37, in a league test.
The Steelers now own a 6-6 record. They play next when they travel to East Aurora for a Section 6 Erie County III test on Friday, January 27. Lackawanna will encounter a Blue Devils squad coming off a 57-53 non-league loss to Batavia (Batavia, NY). The Blue Devils record now stands at 6-6.
