Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Monroe Central Golden Bears (Parker City, IN) and the host Delta Eagles (Muncie, IN), saw Monroe Central's basketball squad hold off Delta by a tally of 47-42.

With the victory, Monroe Central improves its record to 11-9 on the campaign. The Golden Bears host Blue River Valley (Mt. Summit, IN) to play the Vikings in a Mid-Eastern challenge on Thursday, January 26. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 15-7. Blue River Valley lost 55-41 in their recent non-league challenge against Northeastern (Fountain City, IN)

Next up, the Eagles play the Mt. Vernon Marauders (Fortville, IN) in a Hoosier Heritage challenge, on Thursday, January 26. Delta will attempt to improve on its 6-14 season record. The Marauders come into the challenge with a 16-6 record after their 57-34 league win over New Castle (New Castle, IN).
