The Marathon Mustangs basketball team scored 50 points and held the visiting Iraan Braves to 40 in the Mustangs league triumph on Tuesday.

The Mustangs now sport a 14-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Buena Vista for a 1A Region II District 10 contest on Friday, January 27. Marathon will battle a Longhorns team coming off a 64-48 league loss to Rankin (Rankin, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 13-10.

The Braves (7-17) will now prepare for their contest against Grandfalls-Royalty (Grandfalls, TX). The Cowboys enter the 1A Region II District 10 bout with a 13-7 record. In their last bout, Grandfalls-Royalty topped Comstock (Comstock, TX), 56-37, in a league bout.
