Illinois High School Basketball - Christ the King overwhelms Bishop McNamara
January 24, 2025: Kankakee, IL 60901 The Christ the King Gladiators basketball squad scored 69 points and held the host Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish to 47 in the Gladiators league victory on Friday.
With the victory, Christ the King upgrades its record to 14-7 on the year. The Gladiators travel to Hillcrest (Country Club Hills, IL) to face the Hawks in a non-league match on Sunday, January 26. The Hawks enter the match with a record of 12-8. Hillcrest lost 65-54 in their recent non-league match against Hinsdale Central (Hinsdale, IL)
The Fightin' Irish now sport a 17-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Edward for a Chicagoland Christian match on Saturday, January 25. Bishop McNamara will face a Green Wave squad coming off a 71-59 league win over Marian Central Catholic (Woodstock, IL). The Green Wave record now stands at 9-11.
