The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Montrose Red Hawks (Montrose, CO) and the visiting Durango Demons (Durango, CO), observed Montrose's basketball team overcome Durango by a score of 46-38.

The Red Hawks (14-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Fruita Monument (Fruita, CO). The Wildcats come into the 6A/5A Southwestern challenge with a 12-4 record. In their last challenge, Fruita Monument defeated Palisade (Palisade, CO), 44-26, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Demons battle the Dolores Bears (Dolores, CO) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 27. Durango will attempt to improve on its 11-5 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 4-10 record after their 55-46 league loss to Dove Creek (Dove Creek, CO).
