January 24, 2025: Blue Springs, MS 38828 East Union Urchins (Blue Springs, MS) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Mantachie Mustangs (Mantachie, MS), 61-28 in a non-league match.
With the victory, East Union advances its record to 17-5 on the year. The Urchins travel to Hamilton (Hamilton, MS) to face the Lions in a 2A Region 1 match on Tuesday, January 28. The Lions enter the match with a record of 3-13. Hamilton lost 57-18 in their recent league match against New Site (New Site, MS)
The Mustangs now own a 5-21 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hatley for a non-league match on Tuesday, January 28. Mantachie will face a Tigers squad coming off a 70-30 league loss to Walnut (Walnut, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 12-8.
